NSW Regional Youth Taskforce meeting in Wagga Wagga
From 3-6 June 2022, Ben Healey from ICfE’s Youth Council participated in the second meeting of this Taskforce of 18 youth across NSW to provide policy advice on enabling young people to thrive in their communities. Georgie Moustoukis and Benjamin Healey are on this Taskforce for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Region.

The Hon Ben Franklin when interviewed about the meeting said, “we’re here because we want to hear the outcomes and the suggestions for the students behind us, from the young people who know best what they need in their communities.”
Ben Healey in his response to the journalist said, “so I joined the taskforce because I feel that as a young person it’s very easy to feel like our opinions and voices are neglected because we don’t have as many programs and that kind of thing which do specifically focus on regional youth, …. my biggest thing would be seeing the awareness of current mental health services being brought up, and then through the taskforce, how exactly we can spread that awareness.”
The Taskforce meets again in August 2022.
